PPC – Extrusion
Extrusion , which is an inexpensive and continuous casting method, is the process of making the plastic fluid with heat and the molten plastic is forced into a die, which shapes the polymer. The materials used in the extrusion method are high molecular weight thermoplastics.
Extrusion Method
Ppc extrusion , where PVC, PP, PA, PS, PE, sulphone plastics and thermoplastic polyester are used, can also be coated with other material than shaping. These are usually rod, profile, pipe, plate or film. There are two different temperature profiles; the polytropic extrusion and adiabatic extrusion. Based on the method to soften the polymer, the softening is achieved by the dry and wet extrusion method. The extrusion machines vary according to the extrusion capacity and type of plastics used.
PP Extrusion Stages
- Based on the type of product, intended use, and the expectations, the pure polymers are prepared for the production after being mixed with the fillers and different plastics.
- Then the mix is passed through an extrusion device. The mix is melted at a certain temperature and is transformed into the granule form by being cut with a knife at the end of the process, based on the product.
- Scrap plastics are mixed at the maximum ratio with the good grade plastics and they are all combined. In the extrusion process, the melted plastic is pushed forward by the pressure and becomes homogeneous by passing through the spiral channels.
Extrusion Products
The main extrusion products are; round, square, rectangular, hexagonal hollow bars, I, L, T and U shaped construction profiles, pipes, and boxes. There are also many extrusion products produced for a special purpose and it is possible to paint these pieces.
