PPH – Raffia
This is an abrasion resistant thermoplastic used in the production of the sack, rope, gelatin, garden furniture, bigbag, yarn and medical materials. Semi-transparent and crystalline polymer, polypropylene is the lightest thermoplastics.
PP Raffia Production
Polypropylene, in other words pp raffia, has a high dielectric coefficient since it is non-polar and provides a high thermal insulation. It is processed with all the methods applied to thermoplastics. Injection molding method is also used and parts with a smooth surface can be produced.
PP Raffia Usage
With a density of 0,90 to 0,91 g/cm³, this polymer is particularly used in the production of rope. It is used in fishing, fish farms, yacht and boat equipment, industry, agriculture, construction sector, and sports equipment. It is highly resistant to sunlight and incorporates some UV additives. It is possible to produce the products with different thickness and weight. Although it is less though than LDPE in the structure, it is much less brittle than HDPE.
PP Raffia Properties
The PP raffia is quite inexpensive and it has poor adhesion to the paint. Since its density is low, it can be used instead of metal and wood materials. It constitutes an inexpensive plastic and high quality. When it contacts food, it doesn’t cause a risk to the health. The combination can be ensured by welding. In addition to its high chemical and electrical strength, it provides a high abrasion strength and tensile strength. The brittleness is low. It is not affected by diluted acids. It is milky white and semi-transparent.
