AROMATICS

Components in which one or more benzene rings are present are called aromatics . Many components in this group have been given this name because they have an agreeable smell. Aromatics are divided into some groups within themselves. Benzene and toluene are used in the bonding and painting of adhesives.

The aromatics consist of ring-shaped compounds. Compounds such as benzene, benzene derivatives, anthracene, cyclic benzene, naphthalene are included in this group. It is used the most in the carbon chemistry.

The benzene, which forms the foundation of aromatics, is well-known for its colorless, clear characteristics and original pleasant smell. Benzene is used in the production of chemical substances such as LAB, aniline, DDT, DDB, Maleic Anhydride, Striene, Dichlorobenzene and Cyclohexane.

Types of the Aromatics

Apart from benzene, the paraxylene is also included in the group of the aromatics. Paraxylene is also colorless and odorless as benzene. It has an original smell and becomes solid crystal at + 13 ° C. The acid wash color of the paraxylene is max. 2.0, and the maximum amount of platinum cobalt color of the paraxylene is 20 Pt – Co. It is used in the production of the Dimethyl Terephthalate and Terephthalic acid.

Orthoxylene, one of the aromatics, is used in phthalic anhydride production as well as cosmetics, medicine and paint industry. Toluene, as one of the important components, is included in the group of aromatics. Toluene, which is used as a solvent in varnish and paint industry, is used in the production of phenols, benzoic acid, and TNT, which are classified as chemical substances.

It is also often preferred in the pharmaceutical industry and in the production of adhesives. Aromatic components have a pleasant smell and they provide many advantages. Hence, they are used in many areas. In addition, the aromatics are preferred since they are economical.
